Fisher-Price is recalling approximately 63,000 Soothing Motions Seats and Smart Connect Soothing Motions Seats sold in the United States, with an additional 2,000 units sold in Canada. The recall involves model numbers CMR35, CMR36, CMR37, and DYH22, as well as model number CMR39 for the Smart Connect version. These seats bounce, sway, vibrate, play sounds, and feature an overhead mobile.
The recall is due to a fire hazard caused by the motor housing overheating. Fisher-Price has received 36 reports of the product overheating, including one report of a fire contained within the motor housing. No injuries have been reported.
The affected seats were sold at BuybuyBaby, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com and other websites, from November 2015 through October 2017. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled seats and contact Fisher-Price for a full refund.
