Plain-English summary
Fisher-Price is recalling all models of Snuga Infant Swings, including 21 different model variants. The swings were sold at Amazon, Toys R Us, Walmart/Sams Club, and Target nationwide from October 2010 through January 2024 for approximately $160 each. Approximately 2.1 million swings were sold in the United States, about 99,000 in Canada, and about 500 in Mexico.
The recalled swings have a headrest and body support insert on the seat pad. If the product is used for sleep or bedding material is added, these components can increase the risk of suffocation. Between 2012 and 2022, five deaths involving infants 1 to 3 months of age have been reported when the product was used for sleep; in most incidents, infants were unrestrained and bedding materials were added.
Consumers should immediately remove both the headrest (by cutting the tether) and the body support insert from the seat pad before continuing to use the swing. Fisher-Price will provide a $25 refund to consumers who remove and destroy these components.
