Plain-English summary

DICK's Sporting Goods is recalling approximately 207,500 units of Fitness Gear resistance tubes. These latex tubes, used for upper and lower body workouts, were sold in various colors and resistance levels ranging from 5 to 30 pounds. The recalled model numbers are STA00560 through STA00568. The tubes were sold individually or in kits of three, four, or five at DICK's Sporting Goods stores nationwide and online from September 2015 through August 2017 for between $15 and $80.

The recall is due to an injury hazard where the resistance tubes can break while in use and strike the user. The company has received 12 reports of tubes breaking, which resulted in two reports of consumers being struck by a broken tube and one report of a consumer falling when a tube broke.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the nearest DICK's Sporting Goods store. Those with a receipt will receive a full refund, while those without a receipt will receive store credit.
