Burt's Bees Baby is recalling approximately 8,500 infant Butterfly Garden Coverall & Hat Sets. The coveralls are made of 100% organic cotton, sold in blossom pink with white butterflies, and feature a white ruffle around the neck. They were sold in infant sizes NB, 3M, 6M, and 9M. The recall includes only coverall sets with style number LY24195 on the hangtag and a manufacture date code of August 2016 (08/2016) printed on the inside garment tag.
The recall is due to a choking hazard. The snap at the crotch of the coveralls can detach, which poses a choking risk to infants. The firm has received 11 reports of the snaps detaching, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled products were sold at Babies R Us, BuyBuy Baby, and various online retailers including Amazon, Kohl's, Target, and the Burt's Bees Baby website from December 2016 through May 2017 for about $18. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coveralls and contact Burt's Bees Baby to receive a pre-paid envelope to return the garment for a $20 e-gift card.
