Juratoys U.S. of Fairfield, N.J. is recalling four models of Bricolo by Janod push toy trolleys: the French Cocotte Cooker trolley, the DIY-Magnetic trolley, the Redmaster-Magnetic DIY trolley, and the Barbecue trolley. The recalled trolleys measure approximately 17 inches tall and have a 1 foot by 1 foot base. Specific model numbers are printed on the base of the toys: J06544, J06505, J06493, and J06523.
The recall is due to an impact injury hazard. The toy trolleys can tip backwards, posing a risk of injury to children. Juratoys has received two reports of trolleys falling backwards, both resulting in emergency room visits. One incident involved a tooth extraction, and the other involved a laceration to the child's nose.
About 9,900 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 640 units were sold in Canada. The trolleys were sold at various toy stores nationwide, including Giggle and Saks Fifth Avenue, and online at Zulily.com from September 2012 to March 2017 for about $100. The Janod Barbecue trolley sold for about $70. The products were manufactured in China.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled trolleys and keep them out of the reach of young children until they have installed a repair kit.
