What this means for you

Plain-English summary

Currey & Company of Atlanta, Ga. is recalling about 1,000 eight-light crystal chandeliers sold exclusively at Ethan Allen Design Centers nationwide from October 2007 through January 2016. The chandeliers feature a silver frame with crystal ornaments and eight candle-shaped lights. The model number 093682 is located on the inside of the canopy and on the outside of the original carton. The chandeliers were manufactured in China.

The recall is due to a hazard where the loop at the top of the chandelier can break, causing the fixture to fall and posing an impact injury hazard. The firm has received two reports of the loop breaking, including one report of the chandelier falling. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should prevent people from walking underneath the chandeliers. Ethan Allen will contact consumers directly to arrange for a service technician to inspect the fixtures. If the loop is made of zinc, it will be replaced by a certified electrician free of charge. If the loop is made of steel, no repair is necessary. Consumers can contact Ethan Allen toll-free at 877-848-4952 or visit www.ethanallen.com for more information.
