For cellular, roller, and soft horizontal shades, a child's neck can become entangled in the free-standing loop of the continuous pull cord or bead chain if it is not attached to the wall with a tension device. For Roman shades, a child can place their neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the shade or pull the cord out and wrap it around their neck. No injuries have been reported.

The shades were sold online and by phone at retailers including Blinds.com, Home Depot, Office Depot, and Wayfair for between $35 and $775. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled shades and contact Carra Imports at 800-845-8637 or visit www.carrablindsandshades.com to receive a free repair kit. The repair kits include hold-down devices for some shades or instructions to remove pull cords and install metal rings for Roman shades.
