These products were sold between February 2006 and August 2008 for prices ranging from $25 to $60.
The recall is prompted by the risk of strangulation. The Roman shades feature looped pull cords and exposed inner cords on the back, while the roll-up blinds have looped pull cords and lifting cord loops around the bottom rail. These cord configurations present a strangulation hazard to young children. While no incidents or injuries have been reported specifically with the recalled units, CPSC is aware of the death of a child entangled in a similar roll-up blind and at least two deaths involving exposed inner cords on roman-style shades.
