Pacific Cycle Inc. is recalling approximately 129,000 infant bicycle helmets equipped with magnetic no-pinch buckle chin straps. These helmets, designed for children aged one to three years, were sold exclusively at Target stores and online from January 2014 through April 2016 for between $18 and $25. The helmets feature "SCHWINN" printed on the front and are available in various colors and design patterns.
The recall is due to a hazard where the small plastic covers and magnets on the chin strap buckles can come loose. This poses a risk of choking and magnet ingestion to young children. Pacific Cycle has received three reports of the plastic cover coming loose, but no injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately take the affected helmets away from children.
