CE North America Recalls KUL Fan Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

CE North America LLC is expanding its recall of KUL small, white portable fan heaters due to a fire hazard. The heaters can overheat, posing a risk of fire. The recall involves 8,500 units, in addition to approximately 28,000 units recalled in February 2016. The affected units are white, measure about 9 inches long by 5 inches wide by 10.5 inches tall, and weigh about two pounds. An adhesive label on the bottom of the heater displays model number "KU39221" and "Date: 0715" in the lower right-hand corner. The KUL logo is printed on the front bottom of the heaters next to the power dial.
The recalled fan heaters were sold exclusively at H-E-B grocery stores in Texas from September 2015 through December 2015 for about $15. CE North America has received one consumer report of the fan heaters overheating and catching on fire. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled fan heaters and contact CE North America for instructions on returning the heaters with a prepaid shipping label. The company will issue a refund check upon receipt of the returned fan heaters.
