WWRD U.S. LLC is recalling Wedgwood Peter Rabbit decorative baby rattles. The silver-plated giftware is shaped like a baby rattle but is intended for decoration only. The product measures about 4 ½ inches long and 2 inches wide and features embossed Peter Rabbit figures and text on the end caps.
The recall is due to a choking hazard. The ball bearings inside each side of the decorative rattle can be released, posing a risk to young children. The firm has received two reports of ball bearings releasing from the product, but no injuries have been reported.
About 670 units were sold in the U.S. and 24 in Canada between April 2015 and December 2015. The rattles were sold at Bloomingdales, Macy's, WWRD Outlets, other department stores, and online at Amazon and Wedgwood.com for between $75 and $95. Consumers should immediately stop using the rattles, keep them away from young children, and contact WWRD for a full refund.
