Osram Sylvania, Inc. is recalling approximately 46,300 SubstiTUBE IS T8 LED lamps sold in the United States. An additional 8,700 units were sold in Canada. The recalled lamps are white, cylindrical, and measure 48 inches long and 1 inch in diameter. They feature a silver label with the text "OSRAM SubstiTUBE® IS LED T8" and model numbers 73312-1 or 73315-1.

The recall was initiated because the lamps can overheat and melt, which poses a burn hazard. Osram Sylvania received 34 reports of overheating and melting, but no injuries have been reported. The lamps were sold through Osram Sylvania industrial and commercial distributors between December 2014 and May 2015.

Consumers should immediately stop using the lamps and remove them from their fixtures.
