The tools feature green, blue, or red plastic casings and include various tools such as pliers, wire cutters, and an optional high-carbon stainless steel knife blade.

The recall is being issued because the lock mechanism on the optional knife blade can inadvertently release the blade, creating a laceration hazard. The company has not reported any injuries associated with this defect.

The affected multi-tools were sold at Bass Pro Shop, Cabela's, and other retailers nationwide, including online sporting goods stores, from August 2014 through September 2014 for approximately $54. Consumers should not install the optional knife blade or should immediately stop using the multi-tool if the blade is already installed.
