The recall is due to a laceration hazard. Notches in the tempered glass can cause the lens to break under certain water pressure. The company has received nine reports of the lens cracking or breaking, including three reports of minor cuts and scratches to the face.

The masks were sold at sporting goods stores nationwide, including Academy, Dick's, and The Sports Authority, as well as online at Amazon.com and other internet retailers from March 2011 through July 2012. The price was approximately $10 individually or $30 as a set. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled masks and contact U.S. Divers for a replacement mask.
