Pro Armor is recalling about 5,200 Slam Latches for utility vehicle doors. These black metal latches were sold for use in Polaris RZR, Can-Am Commander, and Kawasaki Teryx utility vehicles. The latches were sold separately or as an add-on installed on a door that was purchased separately.

The latch pin can disengage from the latch, allowing the door to open while the vehicle is moving. This poses a risk of ejection for unrestrained riders, as well as impact or laceration hazards. Pro Armor has received nine reports of the latch pin disengaging, but no injuries have been reported.

The latches were sold at powersports dealers and online nationwide from January 2011 through November 2011 for about $50. Consumers should immediately stop using vehicles with this latch installed and contact Pro Armor for a free repair kit.
