Tippmann A-5 Paintball Markers Recalled for Repair Due to Injury Risk

Tippmann Sports LLC is recalling approximately 13,000 Tippmann A-5 paintball markers. The recall involves markers with serial numbers 0409301 to 0422200. The serial number is engraved on the left side of the marker near the front grip and appears on the packaging. Markers with serial numbers ending in "R" have already been repaired and are not included in this recall.

The end cap assembly on the rear of certain A-5 markers can break and eject during use, posing a risk of injury to the operator. Tippmann Sports has received three reports of the end cap assembly breaking, ejecting, and hitting the operator. One minor injury has been reported.

The recalled markers were sold at major sporting goods retailers, paintball dealers, and online retailers nationwide from May 2008 through February 2009 for between $180 and $350. Consumers should stop using the recalled paintball markers immediately and contact Tippmann Sports for a free repair kit.
