Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores is recalling approximately 6,000 SmartSpace™ Papasan Chairs. The recall is due to a fall hazard caused by the chairs being sold without a warning label instructing consumers to lock the chair's legs before sitting. The affected chairs feature a silver metal frame and a circular fabric seat on a 10-inch-tall base, with seats available in purple, pacific, lime yellow, and gray. A hangtag on the chair reads "Smartspace Papasan Chair - 1 piece."

Jo-Ann has received five reports of chairs collapsing when the legs were not locked. No injuries have been reported. The chairs were sold at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft stores nationwide from June 2008 through September 2008 for about $25. The product was manufactured in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the chair until a warning label, instructing consumers to engage the legs in the locked position before use, has been obtained from Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.
