It was sold at home improvement centers and hardware stores nationwide from February 2007 through February 2008 for about $20.

The recall is due to a fire and inhalation hazard. One of the components in the cleaner can react with metal foil residue on the packaging, releasing heat and chlorine gas. Cabot has received one report of the plastic container partially melting and emitting a chlorine odor, but no injuries were reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
