ITT Water Technology Recalls Faulty Fire Suppression Pumps

The hazard involves a mechanical part that was not fully secured, which can lead to the pump failing during use. If these pumps are part of a fire suppression system and fail, the risk of fire damage increases. The pump itself does not pose a fire hazard. ITT Water Technology has received one report of a pump failing to start during a system test, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled pumps were manufactured between December 2005 and September 7, 2006, and sold nationwide through pump distributors for about $800. Affected models include NPE, NPO, MCC, MCS, SM, and Series 3530. Consumers can identify the date code as the first three digits of the serial number on the nameplate; affected codes are M05, A06, B06, C06, D06, E06, F06, G06, H06, or J06.
Installers of fire suppression systems will be contacted by ITT Water Technology to schedule an inspection and replacement.
