Blount Recalls Snapper Lawnmower Blades Due to Laceration Hazard
Blount International is recalling Oregon and Silver Streak replacement blades for Snapper riding lawnmowers because they can crack and break, posing a laceration hazard.

Blount International Inc. is recalling approximately 94,000 Oregon and Silver Streak replacement blades intended for use with Snapper riding lawnmowers. The recall is due to a laceration hazard, as the blades can crack and pieces can break away during operation, posing a risk to consumers and bystanders. Blount has received six reports of blades cracking or breaking, but no injuries have been reported.
The recalled blades are red and marked "MADE IN USA," "GRASS SIDE CX," "Oregon" or "SILVER STREAK." They include part numbers 99-111, 99-112, 99-113, 99-114, 99-117, 99-118, 99-926, and 99-930, with date codes ranging from BL to CP. Original equipment blades and "Snapper" brand replacement blades are not included in this recall.
These replacement blades were sold at power or yard equipment dealers and hardware stores nationwide from November 2002 through August 2006 for between $16 and $28. Consumers should immediately stop using the replacement blades and return them to the store where purchased or any other retailer that carries Oregon or Silver Streak replacement parts for a free replacement.
