The affected models are the EB630 and EB630RT, which are red and black with a white fuel tank. These blowers were sold at Shindaiwa dealers nationwide from July 1999 through February 2006 for about $545.

The recall is necessary because the muffler support bracket can break, creating an opening in the muffler body. This allows hot exhaust gases to escape, which can melt the fuel tank or ignite grease or debris around the fuel tank. Shindaiwa has received one report of fire, but no injuries have been reported.
