The recall is due to a defect in the hardware used in the assembly of the universal hitch. This hardware may come loose, causing the attachment to separate from the lead bicycle. Such a separation could lead to serious injury or death to the rider of the bicycle attachment. Norco Products has received two reports of hardware falling out of the hitch assembly and one report of a minor injury.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product. They should contact their local bicycle dealer to arrange for an inspection and to receive a no-charge repair kit to be installed for free.
