The recall involves two manufacturing styles, "Moon Shadow" and "Chic to Chic," which are 100% nylon fluffy shag carpets. These carpets were sold under various vendor-specific style and color names, including Barbary Coast, Alluring Appeal, Pizzazz, High Step Berber, High Profile, Cadillac II, Amazing Berber, Rosenberry Berber, and Chic to Chcun.

The recall is due to a manufacturing error that over-treated the carpet with a "soil-resist" application, causing it to readily ignite. This defect presents a serious risk of burn injuries and violates the federal Flammable Fabrics Act. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

The affected carpet was sold at carpet retailers nationwide from January 15, 2004, through February 15, 2004, for $50 to $75 per square yard.
