The recall was issued because a security system connected to this device could be prevented from notifying emergency personnel of a hazard. The delay in notification could cause consumers to suffer injuries. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The devices were sold by professional installers nationwide and in Canada between November 2002 and June 2003 for about $80.
