Trudeau Corp. is recalling approximately 45,200 17-piece fondue sets sold under the brand name "Trudeau." The recalled items are model number 82-384, featuring brushed stainless steel pots with black triangular-shaped handles. The sets were sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond stores nationwide from August 2001 through July 2002 for about $20.

The recall was issued because the plastic handles attached to the fondue pots can melt and crack during heating on a range top. This defect poses burn and fire hazards to consumers. Trudeau has received 13 reports of the handles breaking or melting, which include 6 reports of burn injuries to hands, feet, and other body parts.
