Murray and Stanley Riding Lawn Tractors Recalled for Fuel Tank Leaks

The recall was issued because the fuel tanks on these tractors can crack and leak fuel, which creates a burn and fire hazard for consumers. Murray Inc. has received 101 reports of fuel tanks leaking, but no injuries have been reported.

The tractors were sold nationwide at retail and hardware stores, including Wal-Mart and Home Depot, from November 2000 through January 2003 for between $800 and $1,500. Because the manufacturer is out of business, a remedy is no longer available. Consumers should stop using these lawn tractors immediately and discard or destroy the product.
