The model and serial numbers are located on a label behind the removable water bucket on the front of the unit, which also reads "Made in Canada." The specific model numbers are WMD40W (serials 08603098 - 08822606) and EMD40 (serials 08669467 - 08669490).

These units were sold nationwide through independent retailers from March 2002 through June 2002 for between $160 and $190. W.C. Wood discovered the problem through routine testing, and no injuries or incidents have been reported. Because the company is out of business, a remedy is no longer available.
