Small World Toys of Culver City, Calif., is recalling about 880 "Sort & See" sorting box toys. The recalled product is made of hardwood and includes eight shaped blocks filled with beads visible through plastic windows. The wooden box features a clear plastic top and cutouts corresponding to the block shapes, with the words "Ryan's Room" printed on one side.
The recall was issued because the plastic windows on the sorting blocks can break, causing the beads inside to be released. This presents a choking hazard to children. Small World has received one report of a sorter block breaking, but no injuries have been reported.
The sorters were sold nationwide at toy stores from May 2002 through June 2002 for about $20. Consumers should take the recalled toys away from children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund.
