The recalled units are marked with "AGIS" and "MADE IN TAIWAN." These fans were sold at discount stores in the metropolitan New York area between April 1998 and September 1999 for approximately $50.

The recall is due to safety hazards where the fans could overheat during use, present an electrocution risk, and lack sufficient guards to prevent fingers from contacting the fan blades, posing a risk of finger amputation. No injuries have been reported.
