Plain-English summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for ready-to-eat chicken breast meal kits produced by Taylor Farms New England Inc. The alert was issued because the chicken breast component may contain wheat and soy, which are known allergens not declared on the product labels.

The affected products are 11.55 oz. plastic containers of “freshly made meal CHICKEN BREAST” and “Hannaford freshly made meal chicken breast” with sell-by dates from March 26, 2022, to March 29, 2022. The products bear establishment number P-46638 and lot codes TFNE078, TFNE079, TFNE080, and TFNE081. These items were shipped to retail locations in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The issue was discovered when the producing establishment observed different seasonings than usual on the product labeled as grilled chicken breast. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. FSIS has verified that the affected products are no longer available for sale but is concerned that some may still be in consumers' refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
