Plain-English summary
Taylor Farms Florida, an Orlando, Florida establishment, is recalling approximately 732 pounds of ready-to-eat salads with chicken products. The recall was issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The affected products are 9.75-oz. plastic bowls of Taylor Farms American Style Pasta Salad with USE BY dates of 11/01/17 and 11/02/17, bearing case codes TFFLD 295 L5 EA and TFFLD 296 L5 JP, respectively. These items were produced and packaged on October 22 and 23, 2017, and shipped to retail locations in Florida.
The issue was identified after a consumer complaint regarding the taste of the salad dressing. An internal investigation revealed that the products incorrectly contained Caesar salad dressing, which includes anchovies, instead of the labeled Bacon Ranch dressing. Anchovies are a known allergen that was not declared on the product label. The products bear establishment number EST. 44818 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Consumers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
