Plain-English summary
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2026 bZ Woodland vehicles equipped with a tow converter. The recall addresses a potential electrical short circuit within the tow converter's printed circuit board.
This defect can cause the electronic stability control system to deactivate and result in the brake lights remaining illuminated. These conditions cause the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 126 and 108. Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system or continuously illuminated brake lights can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the tow converter free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's recall numbers are 26TB15 and 26TA15.
