Jaguar Land Rover vehicles recalled for DC-DC converter failure

Jaguar Land Rover is recalling certain 2024 and earlier Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and other models for DC-DC converter failure that can result in loss of drive power and exterior lighting, increasing crash risk.

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 170,169 mild-hybrid electric vehicles from model years 2019 through 2024, including the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Defender, and Jaguar F-Pace and E-Pace. These vehicles may have a defective DC-DC converter in the electrical system.

The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. When this failure occurs, the vehicle loses 12-Volt system charging, which can result in complete loss of drive power and complete loss of exterior lighting.

A loss of drive power while driving increases the risk of a crash. The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed June 12, 2026, with additional letters to be sent once the remedy becomes available.
