Volvo VAH trucks recalled for seat belt anchor defects

Volvo Trucks is recalling 2019-2026 VAH trucks because the passenger seat belt anchor may fail due to inadequate floor reinforcement, preventing proper occupant restraint in crashes.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect affecting a critical safety component (seat belt anchorage) that creates significant risk of injury in crashes if the anchor fails. No injuries or deaths have been reported in relation to this defect.

Plain-English summary

The defect affects the seat belt assembly anchorage and violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210. To remedy the issue, dealers will install a new weld nut and washer at no charge to owners.
