What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: Structural vehicle defect affecting steering control and risking rollaway meets the Severe (4) criterion. No deaths or serious injuries are reported in the source, so does not meet Critical threshold.
Plain-English summary
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2025 Tacoma and Tacoma Hybrid vehicles. The front driveshaft constant-velocity (CV) joint may deform and break, creating a safety hazard.
A broken driveshaft can impair steering control. Vehicles with full-time four-wheel drive may experience rollaway while parked without the parking brake applied. Both situations increase the risk of a crash. Approximately 5,960 vehicles are affected by this recall.
Owners should contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Interim notification letters were mailed November 14, 2025. Dealers will inspect and replace both front driveshaft assemblies as necessary, at no charge to owners. A final remedy is anticipated to be available within June 2026.
