Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Ranger trucks. The instrument panel was not properly configured, which prevents many warning lights and gauges from displaying correctly. This includes forward collision warnings, auto emergency braking, traction control, and roll stability indicators. Additionally, the fuel gauge, distance to empty, and fuel economy readings may not show accurately.
This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays," and 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems." An instrument panel that does not clearly display critical safety information increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the instrument panel software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 29, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25C23.
