2021–2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid seats may not restrain occupants properly

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2021 through 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid vehicles. The bolts that secure the seatbacks on third-row seat assemblies may not be tightened properly.
When these bolts are not properly tightened, the seatbacks may not adequately restrain occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The affected vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 202 (Head Restraints), 207 (Seating Systems), and 225 (Child Restraint Anchorage Systems).
Approximately 167,802 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 1, 2025.
Owners can contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171). Dealers will tighten the seat assembly bolts at no cost. Toyota's recall number is 25TA05.
