The oil filter housing can crack and leak oil into the engine compartment. According to NHTSA, an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire.

Dealers will replace the filter housing, oil filter and o-rings free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2024.
