Grand Design RV Recall: Improperly Tightened Suspension U-Bolts

Grand Design is recalling certain 2021–2024 Solitude and Momentum fifth wheels with improperly tightened suspension U-bolts. Loose U-bolts can cause the axle to move, leading to loss of vehicle control.

Grand Design is recalling certain 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Momentum and Solitude fifth wheels equipped with specific CURT 7000 and 8000 lb axles. The U-bolts connecting the leaf spring assembly to the axle may have been improperly tightened.

Improperly tightened U-bolts can allow the axle to move out of position. An axle that moves out of position can cause a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

Approximately 6,270 fifth wheels may be affected. Owners should contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679 to schedule an inspection. Dealers will inspect and tighten the U-bolts as necessary, and replace any damaged components at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 16, 2023.
