Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2022, 2023, and 2024 model year VNL and VHD vehicles equipped with RollTek driver seats. A missing circuit in the side airbag system prevents the side curtain airbag from deploying when needed during a crash.

Without proper airbag deployment, vehicle occupants lose the protection the system is designed to provide, increasing the risk of serious injury in a crash. No deaths, injuries, or illnesses related to this defect have been reported.

To remedy the issue, authorized dealers will connect a jumper harness between the seat and main cab harness free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed on August 4, 2023.
