Polestar Recalls 2020-2021 Polestar 1 Vehicles Due to Battery Fire Risk
Polestar is recalling 2020-2021 Polestar 1 vehicles because defective high-voltage battery cells may overheat and cause a fire. Dealers will replace the battery pack free of charge.

Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. is recalling certain 2020-2021 Polestar 1 vehicles. The recall addresses defective high-voltage battery cells that may cause the battery to overheat when fully charged. This overheating increases the risk of a fire.
Owners of affected vehicles should contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504 or their local dealer. Dealers will replace the high-voltage battery pack and restore the electric driving range as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed in June 2023.
This recall supersedes Recall 22V-926. Any vehicle that received the interim repair under the previous recall will still need to have the remedy for this recall (23V-361) performed. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
