Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 Ford Bronco vehicles due to internal damage to the steering gear. This damage may cause increased steering effort or steering wheel lock-up. A locked steering wheel can result in complete loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. Approximately 343 vehicles are affected by this recall.
Owners should not drive their vehicles until repairs are completed. Ford dealers will replace the steering gear free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 31, 2023.
