Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp is recalling certain 2019 Solo G2 and 2021–2023 Solo G3 vehicles. The affected vehicles contain a defect in the motor controller and inverter, or the battery controller, which can cause the electric motor to shut down without warning.

When the electric motor shuts down during operation, the vehicle experiences a sudden loss of drive power. This creates an immediate risk of a traffic crash, as the driver loses propulsion without warning.

A total of 429 units are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 14, 2023. Electra Meccanica will repurchase the affected vehicles. Owners should contact Electra Meccanica customer service at 1-888-457-SOLO (7656) to arrange repurchase or for more information.
