Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Dodge Durango vehicles, along with 2019-2022 Ram 2500 and 2019-2022 Ram 3500 (cab chassis with GVWR less than 10,000 lbs). A total of 370,437 vehicles are affected.

The issue involves the ABS control module software, which may prevent the electronic stability control (ESC) malfunction indicator light from illuminating under certain conditions. This fails to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126.

The electronic stability control system helps prevent loss of vehicle control during emergency maneuvers. When the ESC malfunction warning light fails to illuminate, drivers will not be aware of problems with this critical safety system, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the ABS control module software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 29, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
