Forest River is recalling certain 2021 and 2022 Cherokee travel trailers (model ACKT29TEBL). The tire size and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the Federal Placard are incorrect. This misprinted placard can lead owners to overload the vehicle with cargo or equipment.
An overloaded travel trailer can lose control on the road, increasing the risk of crashes. The vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110 and 49 CFR Part 567, which govern tire selection and vehicle certification.
Forest River is sending owners a corrected Federal Placard at no cost. Notification letters were mailed on November 29, 2021.
