What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall addresses a tangible safety defect (pinhole in tire sidewall causing air leak) affecting vehicle crash risk per FMVSS 139. However, no injuries, crashes, or illnesses have been reported. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm product without reported incidents, meeting the 'High' severity threshold.
Plain-English summary
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2022 Honda Odyssey vehicles equipped with Bridgestone tires. The affected tires may contain a pinhole in the sidewall that causes a slow air leak.
These tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 139, which establishes requirements for new pneumatic radial tires for light vehicles. A slow air leak can affect tire performance and increase the risk of a crash.
The recall affects 181 vehicles. Owner notification letters were sent in November 2021. Owners should contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 to arrange an inspection. Dealers will inspect all four tires at no cost and replace any tire found to have a pinhole. For additional information, owners can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
