2021 Forest River Wildwood and Salem Trailer Clearance Lamp Defect

Plain-English summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2021 Wildwood Fifth Wheel, Wildwood Travel Trailer, Salem Fifth Wheel, and Salem Travel Trailer vehicles. The red and amber clearance lamps on these trailers do not reflect enough light, which violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) number 108 for lamps and reflective devices.

When clearance lamps are not sufficiently reflective, other drivers may have difficulty judging the length of the trailer and its position on the road. This reduced visibility increases the risk of a crash.

To correct this defect, dealers will add reflex stickers to both the amber and red clearance lamps free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 11, 2021.
