Plain-English summary
Autocar, LLC is recalling certain 2020 Legend vehicles due to a defect in the headlight and windshield wiper wiring harness. The harness may become disconnected during operation, causing the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 108 and 104.
A disconnected wiring harness can result in a sudden loss of headlight and windshield wiper function, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. Autocar issued an interim notification letter to owners on May 6, 2021, and mailed owner notification letters on May 24, 2022.
Dealers will inspect the wiring harness routing and repair or replace it as necessary at no charge to the owner. The remedy was expected to be available in February 2022. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611 or 1-877-973-3486, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
