Forest River Recalls 2020 Palomino Real-Lite Campers Due to Window Defect

Forest River is recalling 2020 Palomino Real-Lite campers because window glass may detach from the frame, posing a projectile hazard.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where window glass may detach and become a projectile, explicitly increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Plain-English summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2020 Palomino Real-Lite Truck Campers. The recall also includes other 2020 recreational vehicles from brands such as Cedar Creek, Columbus, Flagstaff, Coachmen Apex, Rockwood, and Sunseeker, as well as other Palomino truck camper models.

The defect involves the adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of frameless crank out vent and egress windows. This bond may fail, allowing the glass to detach and fall out. If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving, it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. This recall began July 15, 2020. Owners may contact Palomino Customer Service at 1-269-432-3246 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
