The recall addresses a defect where an incorrect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor may have been installed during production. This error can cause the sensor to fail to display the low tire pressure warning indicator, meaning the vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138.
Without the warning indicator, drivers may be unaware if low tire pressure occurs, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall began on January 9, 2020.
